Feature Film Screenplays
Dermot is an award-winning author, screenwriter, and playwright. He is a film script story consultant (on the independent feature Driving Me Crazy, directed by Steve Marshall) and a book manuscript consultant (Writing Flow writing book). Dermot’s produced stage plays include, Caged, Theatre Banshee, Burbank, CA, All About Love, Celtic Arts Center, Hollywood, CA, Love Lies Bleeding, Playwright’s Platform, Boston, MA, Tales From the Old Sod, Spoleto Festival, Charleston, SC, The Personal Assistant, Laughing Gravy Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, and A Pint of Plain, Laughing Gravy Theatre, Dublin, Ireland. In 2025, Dermot’s play We Are Not Sheep won 1st place (overall winner) and Best Irish play in the 5th Annual Carlow International One-Act Playwriting Competition. His book, screenplay, and other stage play awards include winning a Somerset Award for literature, the Reader’s Favorite International Book Award, placing in the Austin Screenwriting Competition as a Semi-Finalist, and the OZ Whitehead Playwriting Award, among others. His unproduced feature film script The Blacksmith has been a Finalist and Semi-Finalist in multiple screenplay competitions. His unproduced optioned or commissioned feature film screenplays include The Mad Monk, Indie Producer, Rumple’s Way, Canopy Productions, and The Corn King, 7th Ray Entertainment.
