H is a screenwriter, novelist and playwright, with an MFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment, and a PhD in Creative Writing focused on sci-fi screenwriting and filmmaking. She is a graduate of the Melbourne Summer Film School, Australia. She has written and directed, or co-produced, some short or other films or otherwise been involved in Hollywood or other film production (documentary, a test spot commercial, animation, features and shorts, etc.). Her short experimental Welsh and English bilingual film, Sacred Birthday, Sacred Wales – Pen-Blwyddyn Gysegredig, Cymru Sanctaidd, shot on location in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales won the Illustrated Poem category Jury’s Award Prize at the Wales International Film Festival 2021. In 2018, her Super 8 short film Sleep Disturbance was shot in Bristol and screened at The Cube Microplex, UK. Her play Dark Eros, adapted into a suspense novelette of the same title, was staged as readings in Los Angeles, one of which starred Jessica Biel in the lead role as Leila. An excerpt of the play version of Sleep Disturbance was staged as readings at the Taliesin Create Space, Wales, UK (with BBC and BAFTA actors). Recent publications include creative nonfiction, ‘Waking up Wild’ and ‘Snow’, published in Tofu Ink Arts Press, the ecopoem ’23 Species from 19 States lost to extinction’ published in an edition of In Parentheses, and ‘Mars or Bust: How Science Fiction Films will Promote Mars Colonization Reality’ published in the newly released The Book of Mars: An Anthology of Fact and Fiction edited by Dr Stuart Clark (paper presented initially at The Mars Society 21st Annual International Convention, Pasadena, CA).
